Well, last night I took a chance and I saw "Butterfly 8"-1960- Liz Taylor, Dina Merril, Susan Oliver, Lawrence Harvey.. and... a guy who choose Liz beeing married with Debbie Reynold,s ... his name?: Eddie Fisher-
The film: A very... "risquee" film for youngsters- But I think that the plot was softened.. so they say- :?
Liz is... good in it- rather plump...
Betty Field (who plays Liz mom best friend ) STEALS the films-
Lawrence Harvey.. is good- :?
Dina Merrill a real beauty, so classy.. the kind of woman I like: And she is STILL very beautiful!!-
Susan Oliver plays Fisher,s fiancee: no chance to make a good role: she couln,t stand Eddie !!!-
Mr Fisher: the worst of worsts: The producer wanted David Jansen for this role BUT Liz wanted him!!: a disaster-
The film is just--- OK- To see in a rainy boring afternoon with PLENTY of good food-I recomend VERY GOOD FOOD to see it-
The funny thing is that Liz refused to do it, at first, because her bad-press with that Debbie-Eddie scandal: she finally did it but made life HELL to everybody, AND she won her first Oscar for it!!: Press, friends, etc told: "She won it (the Oscar) not because the film, but because she was very ill, almost to die" before filming began-( yes, she was ill-BUT she made her own "poor-little-girl-lost" when going to the Podiuim to receive the Oscar)
My rate?: 2- Only for Dina & Betty- (one point to each)

She is so selfish that she accepted for her own good- BUT... both: she and him "plays" a very "dangerous-game"- IF his uncle would be able to accept to help her, at the end: what would she do? (to "pay" that)- mmm?- :o :o :o - And remember this: A "strange-sick-weird" man like him... HAVE A MIND ... so he CAN have weird fantasies- And she gives, him, a lot of stuff (atittudes etc) for those fantasies- MMM- It is one of the most risquee relations on classics I have ever seen- Strangely..the Code did nothing !!!!- uncle :o

Oh, Uncle! I didn't know you were back! :o Oh, yay!, I'm so excited!  :D I've been so busy, but I did finally see GWTW! And I loved it! It was on two seperate DVD's, and we accidentally started watching the 2nd half first... but it was still awesome. I love how Vivien could play such an evil, scheming( ) charecter. It was very believable! And the clothes!! They were so wonderful, all of them! I don't know who else has noticed, but towards the end(just before the 'frankly, my dear...' scene, I think.) Scarlet was holding onto a banister(or something like that, it was like a tall post/column thing on a porch) and it sure didn't look very steady! But, really, the clothes and props they used were so elaborate and amazing! And to be such an old movie - even more amazing! :D I'm so happy I finally got to watch it!!!!

Hehe- yes, I,m back !!!!- And very, very happy to have YOU here again !!!-
Do u mean u saw the second part FIRST (the COMPLETE second part ?????).....Or that u started to see it.. and then u put the first part??????-    - If not: what a mess !!!!!- hehe
About that column who "shakes": the film is so true to the novel, that: Melly,s house, when (in the novel) was first builted, has TWO floors: the first one, and above the second- During the war, the second was destroyed, BUT the column stayed !!!!- So, it becomes a "false" column- But they leave it- That part u named it was at Melly,s house- For that reason the column shakes when Scarlett hold it !!- hehe- :P :P :P :P :P

I've watched: Lost Honeymoon (1947) with Franchot Tone. It was a little escapist picture. Cute, but nothing else really.

Now, I know the next film I'm about to list is past our mark, but I have to include it because I watched, what I would consider my first B picture: Hot Rods to Hell (1965) with Dana Andrews and Jeanne Crain. This film was . . . yeah, there really wasn't anything good about it other than Dana. Even Jeanne Crain just seemed to be overacting to me, and I really like her. It was nice to see Dana and her together again after State Fair (1945), but I do wish it had been a better picture than this.

And, most importantly, I finally watched Alice Adams (1935) with Fred MacMurray and Katharine Hepburn. Now that was a good film. The hardest part of the film to watch was the disastrous dinner scene. I really just wanted to get past that part so bad. And it's a really hot day in the film, and they're having a really heavy dinner, and poor Fred is sitting there sweating, having to eat it, and Katharine knows that the dinner is not going according to plan . . . it made me sick to my stomach having to look at the food that they were eating. I did love the ending though, and I'm glad that they didn't go with the ending to the book. If you're a Katharine Hepburn fan, you have to see this film, and even if you aren't you still have to see it.
