Re: Vertigo voted best film
Thanks for the severe beating and the info Carlos, I didn't know that the stuff was left as it was as a salute to the makers.
You have stated your case and I know how much that film is your lifeblood.
Again, I really didn't mean to insult you, I have offered you my sincere apologies.

Re: Vertigo voted best film
I never took it as an insult TO ME- I,m not so crazy- ( or fanatic, or obsessive or blind)
I took it as an insult ( the phrase: " lough loud at...") to the movie-
You KNOW much more than me about phsicology- I.m not a therapist, so you know that when you are insulting something very important & dearly to somebody you are hurting that person-
Some of the younger members, here, wrote me, before, that they didn,t care about Vivien or GWTW- It,s all right for me- I respect other,s feelings and preferences- But NOBODY, never, told me: " I laugh loud at xxx GWTW scene " because a fault, an error- Or: " I laugh each time I saw Vivien Leigh because..."-
I never did, never will do-
So, imagine if I write to ( for example) dear Bailey, who loves "White Christmas" this: " I love the film, but each time I see Rosemary Clooney signing XXX song, I laugh loud, because I can saw xxx fault in the scene"- Can u imagine that?-
Or to David, who loves Susan Hayward: " yes, I love her, but each time I saw her how she moves her hands (to give a stupid example) I laugh loud. I know it,s not her intention for me to laugh at her, but I do"-
And to finish this point:
In one of the most important TV programs I went, IF NOT the MOST important, I made a video ONLY with GWTW faults- The clue was to show errors in such a classic: I did it, nobody laugh, everybody had the time of their lives seeing those errors, I explain each one of them, they were SO surprised!!: it was the MOST seeing TV program of the week, and voted the BEST of the season- It was wonderful to show how "human" is GWTW as it is considered almost like an " untouchable-monument"-
Films I can show you great errors?: "Casablanca", "Wizard of Oz", "It,s a Wonderful Life".. to name just a few super classics- But the real point is to see them AS "human" films, with errors: that,s the most lovely thing about classics-
At one time, films were done BY HUMANS- Not by computers- And I think we all, here, loves THAT-
For me, it,s the END of this conversation- I hope I made things clear to you-
And I,m not beating you: I,m not your parents, you are not a child- This is an adult-conversation-discussion.
I accept your apologies-

Moderator Comment: Everyone's entitle to their opinion. If you find you have a different view from another comment in regard to a favorite scene, film, or star of yours - it's easy to ignore it or discuss your point of view in a civil manner. No need to carry it further than that.
Back to Vertigo - sorry I didn't get it up for the weekend Theater! I had planned to, but couldn't get up in time, which, *cough* means that we didn't get anything up
Anyhoo, I've got a lot of great things to say about that movie, but I'll wait until I can get it up (so that everyone gets a chance to watch it!).
