Re: A word or two about Denver massacre-
Have you ever heard of Jamie Bulger? Now that is one of the most horrible tragedies....they blamed it on the horror film Child's Play 3. Basically these two kids saw this 2/3 year old baby (jamie bulger) alone in the shopping centre as jamie had become parted from the parent. The two kids came along and kidnapped him, and took him to a railway station, I'm not going to go into the horrible gory disgusting details but basically they tortured Jamie to death!
It is an infamous case in England and as the kids were young they weren't sent to a real prison and also they gave them new identities.

It is a song - a good one too! I was just basically saying that I prefer knowing that if someone walked into my house trying to harm me or my loved ones, he wouldn't last too long because our house has multiple guns in it. To me, that's much better than outlawing guns - outlawing guns just guarantees criminals that all of their victims will be disarmed and helpless. Different line of thought, that's all
Yes David: COMPLETLY different line of thought- I hate violence from one part or the other- Violence only brings more violence-

I was also very shocked at this news. It has made me think about violence in general, and I'm really glad you opened this topic, Uncle. I can't get to understand what drives a person to do a thing like this. What is it? What's wrong with society that can drive you to this? This man didn't even have any record of violence before. To show up randomly and do a thing like this... I can't understand it. I am too against legal purchasing of weapons. I agree with Uncle, violence brings more violence. Tell me about it. I live in Mexico, a country about which you all must hear only because it's violence today. It's a terribly sad situation here. (Still, do not think that Mexico is a pool of blood!!! it doesn't happen everywhere, just certain places). Luckily, I (or anybody that I personally know) have never lived through any of the terrible violence that keeps in the headlines here, but it still means to be surrounded by terrible news and stories all the time.
I think that the world in general is exposed to too much violence, direct or indirect, today. We are sort of becoming immune to it. Take the examples about movies today... take Batman. It's supposed to be for kids and young people, and kids can actually stand all that violence as if it were a normal thing!! It's worrying. We shouldn't get surprised at these things happening. We are creating it ourselves. That's a little bit of my mixed up opinion on the subject.

Yes I did, Uncle Carlos!!!!! And you know what, when the previous Batman was released I remember saying exactly what we are saying now. I think a friend and I even wrote an article on unnecessary violence on films for school and our main example was Batman. I find the situation worrying.

Re: A word or two about Denver massacre-
I'm not against the sale of guns, because like David says, criminals are going to get one, whether it's legal or not...
But yes... that shooting was terribly tragic...
Oh I can't believe the kinds of shows parents let their kids watch now a days..... it's disgraceful! It's like there's no line between adult movies and kids shows. Kids expect to watch whatever they want and it's polluting their minds! Dreadful situation... just dreadful!
