Re: Top Favorite Classic Films
Right off the top of my head, I would say my Top 5 are probably:
1. The Lady Eve (1941) - I think pretty much everyone here ('cept maybe the newbies) know I love this film more than life.
2. Arise, My Love (1940) - Most gorgeous movie ever, not going to lie.
3. California (1947) - It's Barbara Stanwyck in Technicolor. End of reasoning.
4. Meet John Doe (1941)
5. The Miracle Woman (1931)
WHAT?! No. Those were not all Barbara Stanwyck or Ray Milland movies. No Regrets.

Well, let's see...
1. The best Years of our Lives
2. All that Heaven allows/Johnny Belinda
3. I'll cry Tomorrow
4. A Streetcar named Desire
5. Three came Home/ Midnight
But that's it just for now. As always when it comes to such questions, I wake up tomorrow and think of another ten movies that simply have to be in my list.

Re: Top Favorite Classic Films
Okay, on account of because I was up for like an hour last night with a guilty conscience over not being able to think of favorite movies that didn't star Babs Stany, I present to you my new and improved Stanwyck-less favorite movie list:(in no order)
5. Random Harvest
4. Midnight
3. Libeled Lady
2. High Society
1. It's a Wonderful Life
So there. Some favorites. I'm sure there are more. I love too many.

Re: Top Favorite Classic Films
I was wondering where It's a Wonderful Life went, Natalie!
Those of you who know me, know that I can't narrow it down to 5 without leaving something major out a regretting it later
And besides, it depends what mood I'm in
But, here's my list of 5 for this morning (in no particular order!):
- Casablanca - how can you go wrong with this film, right? The dialogue, cast, and story are all made with the finest ingredients.
- It's a Wonderful Life - My favorite piece of what Natalie coined, "Capra-Corn"!
- I'll Cry Tomorrow - In my opinion, the finest example of dramatic acting. While you may disagree on the #1 spot, you certainly could never argue that this film doesn't belong within the top 10 or top 5 acting performances ever.
- Gilda - Chemistry between Ford and Hayworth sizzles, wonderful story, great performance.
- Notorious - Favorite Hitchcock film.
And of course there are so many others - and if I were to be stranded on a desert island, I'm not sure all of these would make it
Sometime I need make a list of top 20 - that I think I could do
