It's Douglas Fairbanks Jr.! :) Of whom I am quite a fan, haha. Just watched him & Cary Grant in Gunga Din 1939, and now I'll be in a good mood for the remainder of the day.

Haha, my favorite part is where Errol steps into his New York gangster persona and gets more than he bargains for!

Oh haha! Errol Flynn imitating Bogart is the best!

Oops, didn't recognize Fairbanks Jr! :) Gunga Din is a pretty funny film, regardless of it's purpose as an action film :P

In the last few days I've watched My Bill (1938) with Kay Francis and Dickie Moore; Half Angel (1951) with Joseph Cotten and Loretta Young; Casanova Brown (1944) with Gary Cooper and Teresa Wright (re-watch); This Is My Affair (1937) with Robert Taylor and Barbara Stanwyck; and finally, taking Natalie's advice, Down to Earth (1947) with Larry Parks and Rita Hayworth (thanks Natalie!).

How was Down to Earth, R.C.? I haven't seen it, but have always wanted to :)

The last few days I've seen Lifeboat, The Snows of Kilimanjaro, and Paid (1930). I liked all of them, Paid in the third place, anyway. Anybody seen any?

What do you think of it? I liked it. I expected much less of it, but it didn't disappoint me. I haven't read the book, but I can see it must be very autobiographic from Hemingway, right? Besides Gregor Peck's face being a pleasure to watch  , his acting was very good. Susan and Ava do pretty good jobs too, and I would have liked to see much more of Susan, don't you? I'm sure you do. ;)

I actually expected a lot more from the film - was a bit disappointed  Susan had what - 15 minutes of screen time  Ava was good in it though :)

I double that, Susan should have had a bigger part. I would have loved to see how she & Gregory became a couple, they both played interesting characters, so it would have been interesting. But Ava was great to see also. :)

Exactly what I felt Carmen.
