Just watched it... and really loved it! Bogart was super and Katherine, well she did a great job too! I was glued to the screen for those last scenes and all the way through the movie it was like I was on the African Queen too. What a journey!!!

Re: The African Queen - Discussion
I like this movie a lot. Here are some reasons why I think this movie is very good. First, considering that practically the entire movie moves between only two characters, it is very dynamic. You don't get bored, even though the part of the movie which is not action story is purely dialogue and the relation between both characters.
Then, the script is very good. The dialogues are very vivid, and, I repeat, very dynamic.
Besides, Bogie and Katharine are amazing in this movie. In great measure, it's because of their great acting and chemistry during the movie that it gets so interesting and fluid. With bad acting, this movie could easily have been a bore.
I also love that it was almost entirely shot on location. It makes the movie more interesting.
By the way, some time ago (I think I had told you before), I read a book by Katharine Hepburn called "The Making of The African Queen or How I Went to Africa With Bogart, Bacall, and Huston and Almost Lost My Mind". After reading it, I loved the movie even more because it's such a fun book. If you can get it, don't doubt. You won't regret it. Katharine tells everything in her typical style, very honest, very funny, very sour. It's just great.
