Re: Recent Movies Watched
Last night, with my mom we saw AGAIN "A SUMMER PLACE"- 1959- A strange film, but I love it- It,s incredible how the code was more... "bland"
.. ending the 50,s !!- But everything was done with such classy that nothing is rude or unfair- The music is a masterpiece!!: Max Steiner wrotes one of his best scores !!: and the theme song was THE hit of 1959- There are 3 actings that I just love there: Richard Eggan (never considered a good actor) was wonderful, Dorothy Mc Guire should had been nominated for an Oscar- Wonderful perfomance!! (her portrayal, here, makes me remember Jane Wyman,s in "All that heaven allows"- And Sandra Dee.. just wonderful, in a very difficult role!!- As I said: everything is classy and elegant, here- So.. don,t be affraid to watch it- uncle.

Saw My Reputation last night. It was totally great!!
I also saw "Crash Dive" (Ty Power Dana Andrews Anne Baxter) last night. It was absolutely great (except for the fact that I've heard from several navy sources that there is no such thing as a "Crash dive"--all dives are crash dives and are to be made as fast as possible)!!

If you don't like James Cagney, by the time you finish this movie, you will at least like him. Livvie de Havilland was absolutely great! Rita did a good job playing a "social character".
I really want to watch this! Where did you find it?

Re: Recent Movies Watched
I just finished watching Undercurrent (1946) with Robert Mitchum, Katharine Hepburn, and Robert Taylor. It's very strange, but I found it very interesting. Taylor was great as the insane brother, Katharine is of course magnificent, and though Robert Mitchum only appears in three scenes in the almost two hour film, I find him the most interesting character of all; I believe it's because they built so much mystique about him. Sure, Taylor steals the film and technically has the most important part in the film, I still preferred Mitchum.

I watched this, also. Although Robert Taylor was the villain, it was hard for me to dislike him. He's just one of my favorites.

Counting this film, I've only seen two Robert Taylor pictures, the other being Lucky Night (1939) with Myrna Loy, and that was a while ago, just when I was getting started in the classics I do believe.

I know I should, but I know what happens, and I don't want it to happen, and so it's just one of those movies that's going to be really hard for me to watch just like An Affair to Remember. It is on my list, though. Believe me.

What are you in the mood for? Hehe. I remember that I liked "The Mad Miss Manton", I haven't seen "Double Indemnity" yet.
