Uncle Carlos, I agree with you. I prefer Dolores del Rio kind of beauty than Maria Felix's, but Maria Felix knew very well how to use it for heart breaking. You know, I think one of this days I'll change my avatar to Dolores. She was in Hollywood too so she deserves a little while too. Besides, I think Dolores del Rio was a better actress.... what do you think?

And she even K.... herself to put her own sister in jail!!- Gene is wonderful!!- The scene where she saw the..d... is something terrible, cause.. ( the "person" is absolutely helpless).. and she stood like a statue, with a gesture in her mouth..just terrible!!- I think it,s an underrated MASTERPIECE of a film mix terror-suspense...etc- Uncle.

Ohhh, I love that movie. I think Gene is perfect in it. And yes, the scene were she sees the boy.... oh dear, her absolute blank face!!!!! She was perfect, really!

Well, I finally have been able to see Laura and loved it, really. It had so much fun with it. To start with, I didn't know what the story was about. I only knew there was a painting. So the story was a complete surprise for me. Then, I don't know if it's done like that on purpose or not, but I was totally sure everything since Laura appears was going to be a dream because when Dana Andrews falls asleep on the couch there is a close up to him very similar to the one in The Woman in The Window. So yeah, I kept thinking it was all going to be a dream he had for watching Laura's painting. I was really hoping not because I didn't want Laura to be dead, but I was so sure it was going to be like that, that when The End appeared, it was such a shock that you should have seen my face. It must have been hilarious. I loved the movies. :D

I saw the movie these quotes are from last night/this morning. I stayed up way too late in order to finish it, but it was great!! What movie was it?? If nobody can get it, I'll let you know what it is. Natalie and/or Cheryl should know. :P :D

Anyone? :P
God bless,

Well, that,s the magic of LAURA- See: Gene was so beautiful & special that she, really, appears about an hour from the start, of the film- Which woman can mainting (?) the interest without seeing, her?- Only Gene-
PS: When I wrote u about the mag with Dolores I put "hate" instead of "have"..hehe   - By the way: I think that Dolores del Rio has more STAR presence than Felix- Of course Felix was more sexy, but her Star power only depends on that: in beeing sexy- Uncle

Last night I watch an odd film noir called Nightmare Alley (1947). It stars Tyrone Power and Joan Blondell in a story about a carnival con man. Very gritty. Here's a link:

Tyrone Power was very good in his performance, playing against type as a sleazy mentalist out to con people from their money. Amazing transformation in his looks at the end.

I just saw "Tovarich" with Charles Boyer and Claudette Colbert and I adored this movie! The fact that two French are playing Russians is awesome and the movie was so funny! I completely fell for Charles Boyer last night.
...that when you turned and smiled at me, a Nightingale sang in Berkeley Square.
