Pride and Prejudice
Absolute favorite! Jane Austen was wonderful, a genius at work!
I loved the chemistry between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, it was quite intriguing! The whole plot is magnificent! And, Mrs. Bennet, I absolutely loved her nonsense!
I mean, who seriously couldn't love Pride and Prejudice? Actually, I know someone who infact did not appreciate Jane Austen --
UNBELIEVABLE!
Writers nowadays don't write like they used to. All the wonderful classics from, Louisa May Alcott's Little Women to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice -- it just priceless how these two wonderful women could write! I'm just so fascinated by it.

Re: Pride and Prejudice
I adore Jane Austen! My aunt presented me with "Pride & Prejudice" when I was ten and I had to get used to the language first...but then, I was hooked.
I've just finished reading "Mansfield Park" which I also loved but I think "Sense & Sensibility" is my favourite of her. But the Bennets are so adorable too, I just love the world of Jane Austen! Also the movie adaptions, they're always worth a watch.

Re: Pride and Prejudice
Have you ever seen the film/TV adaption of Pride and Prejudice?
My favorite adaption (of course!) is the 1995 with the lovely and extraordinary Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth!
The 2005 adaption starring Keira Knightley just didn't follow the book as much, and she wasn't as "mature" as Jennifer Ehle seemed. I don't know, it just didn't hit me as much as the 1995 version did.
I also love Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet's Sense and Sensibility!!

Re: Pride and Prejudice
I don't know how often I've seen "Sense & Sensibility" with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, I love that movie.
I still haven't seen the Colin Firth version of "Pride & Prejudice" tough, only the old one with Greer Garson and the Keira Knightley version and I liked them both but I really should check out the other version too, there have been many that told me now that they liked it.
Did you see the movie about Jane Austen herself starring Anne Hathaway? I liked that one too.

Oh my
I have not watched the one with Greer Garson, but definitely will!
No, I wanted to, but haven't!! Is it good? (the one with Anne Hathaway).

On my "To Watch" list since one minute ago.
The version with Greer Garson is nice too, I especially enjoyed Mary Boland as Mrs. Bennet, she was fun.
I like the movie about Jane Austen. I'm usually not a too big fan of Anne Hathaway but here she was good. And it has nice character parts.

Well, I think you'll LOVE Mrs. Benett in the 1995 version! And I will definitely put the version with Greer Garson on mine! As well as the movie with Anne Hathaway!

Re: Pride and Prejudice
I love Pride and Prejudice. I really like Elizabeth and Darcy. I am also a big fan of 1995 adaptation! Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy is perfect! Everything about this version of P and P is wonderful and it is lovely to watch anytime especially with a cup of tea and a bar of chocolate on a rainy day or when you are feeling unwell. Sit back and fall in love with Mr. Darcy!

Re: Pride and Prejudice
P&P is my favourite, together with Jane Eyre. I read it for the first time when I was 12, and I have read it at least once a year since then.
I love the Greer Garson/Laurence Olivier film, although it takes quite a few liberties. It is full of life and I really like Mary Boland and Edna May Oliver.
I didn't like the Keira Knightley version, it's bland. The only thing keeping it from being forgettable is Tom Hollander as Mr. Collins. All the other actors just seem wrong, except Brenda Blethyn (she's fabulous in anything).
The ultimate version is of course the 1995 BBC adaptation. My sister and I watch it together sometimes when we're in a romantic mood. It's one of the few films/series we both love.
I've also read Amanda Grange's "Mr. Darcy's Diary", which tells the story from Darcy's point of view. I love it because it focuses on his life, so Darcy becomes a more rounded character. If you really love the P&P, you will like this, too!
